Overview & History
The Ellis Lake Retreat is about 45 minutes southwest of downtown Indianapolis and 20 miles north of Bloomington between the Morgan-Monroe State Forest and the Putnam-Owen State Forest. This 107 acre property, which includes 30 acres of water, was originally developed in the 1950’s by Ellis Trucking. Over the last 5 decades, it has been both a corporate and a private getaway. Great fishing, wooded hiking trails, and a professional skeet range have all been part of the rich history of the property.
In 2005, we purchased the property as a private family getaway. We made major renovations to existing facilities and added the landing strip, corporate hangar and meeting center, the campground shelter, shower house, and screened game room. It is a new season in our lives and we are now making this amazing property available for others to enjoy. ~ Bryan & Caryl Anderson
